šŸ‘‹  Hi, Iā€™m Rachael - Director of Risk here at Dwolla and Iā€™m looking for an experienced ACH Risk Management Specialist to join our fast-paced team.


Here is what you can expect to work on in this critical role on my team:

The primary responsibilities for this role focus on managing ACH-related risk. You can expect to spend about 65% of your time responding to Proof of Authorization (POA) requests and collaborating with clients to obtain Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit (WSUD) forms and Letters of Indemnity (LOIs) when necessary. Youā€™ll also spend about 20% of your time monitoring and reporting and the remaining 15% of your time on risk mitigation and compliance activities and client support.

What else is expected of a ACH Risk Management Specialist at Dwolla?
  • Key Responsibilities (65%)
  • Authorization and Documentation Management
  • Respond promptly and accurately to Proof of Authorization (POA) requests from RDFIs.
  • Collaborate with Clients to obtain Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit (WSUD) forms and Letters of Indemnity (LOIs) when necessary.
  • Maintain organized records of all documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.

  • Monitoring and Reporting (20%)
  • Monitor Client return rates on a monthly basis, identifying trends and potential risks.
  • Develop and report remediation plans for Clients with high return rates to the ODFI (Originating Depository Financial Institution).
  • Provide recommendations and actionable insights to mitigate potential ACH risks for both Clients and Dwollaā€™s ODFI.

  • Risk Mitigation and Compliance (5%)
  • Ensure compliance with NACHA operating rules, ODFI agreements, and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including compliance, operations, and Client support, to resolve ACH-related issues and minimize risks.
  • Assist in implementing risk management policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.

  • Client Support and Communication (10%)
  • Act as a liaison between the ODFI, Clients, and RDFIs for ACH-related risk inquiries.
  • Provide guidance and education to Clients regarding ACH compliance, risk management practices, and remediation plans


What are the qualifications for this position?
  • REQUIRED: 3+ years of experience in ACH operations, risk management, or a related field
  • Bachelorā€™s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field, or 4+ years of equivalent work experience preferred
  • Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NACHA operating rules and regulations preferred
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret ACH data and identify risk trends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to Clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Sheets, Documents and Slides) and familiarity with ACH processing systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to manage multiple day-to-day tasks and respond to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  


$68,900 - $128,900 a year
Dwolla anticipates the salary range for this position is between $68,900 - $128,900. We want to emphasize that compensation decisions are dependent on a number of candidate-specific factors such as relevant work experience, education, licensure/certifications, geographic location, etc and the salary awarded will be finalized at the time of offer.  In addition, Dwolla offers a comprehensive benefits package as outlined below.
