Job Description

The SVP, Chief Marketing Officer of Experian Consumer Services will lead the marketing strategy and execution for our direct-to-consumer digital financial platform. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with expertise in balancing brand building and performance marketing, a passion for fintech, and a proven track record of driving customer acquisition, engagement, and retention while elevating brand equity in a competitive digital financial environment. 

What you'll be doing:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a holistic marketing strategy that balances long-term brand building with short-term performance goals, aligned with the company’s vision and business growth objectives.
  • Lead the transformation of the brand’s identity, ensuring a consistent, compelling, and emotionally resonant message across all channels
  • Foster a data-informed culture where branding decisions are tied to measurable business outcomes.
  • Build and define strategic marketing partnerships to expand our influence and presence across the consumer financial landscape. 

Customer Acquisition & Growth

  • Design and implement integrated multi-channel marketing programs (paid, earned, owned, and shared media) to drive user acquisition while reinforcing brand values.
  • Leverage advanced segmentation and personalization strategies to create targeted campaigns and experiences that balance direct-response tactics with brand reinforcement.
  • Optimize marketing funnels through A/B testing and predictive analytics, ensuring efficiency in customer acquisition and alignment with brand messaging.

Customer Engagement & Retention

  • Unlock the value of our latent consumer population of 80m to drive product utilization and maximize performance outcomes on platform.
  • Enhance the customer journey by integrating brand storytelling into touchpoints that drive engagement and deepen emotional connections.
  • Use behavioral insights and customer feedback to inform both brand innovation and engagement strategies.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Utilize real-time analytics and advanced attribution models to measure campaign effectiveness and ROI, optimizing strategies to achieve performance KPIs.
  • Combine market research and customer data to ensure that brand positioning evolves with market trends and consumer expectations.
  • Optimize success metrics including brand, performance and customer experience metrics to track both long-term growth and near term success.

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a cross-functional marketing team skilled in creative, branding, media, consumer insights, content and analytical performance marketing.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and accountability, where team members collaborate to achieve both brand resonance and quantifiable business outcomes.
  • Develop succession plans and opportunities for team members to contribute to both creative and performance objectives.
  • Define and manage our agency relationships; including strategic prioritization, responsibilities and best practices. 

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Technology, Revenue Operations, General Managers and other departments to ensure that brand narratives and performance campaigns reflect product capabilities and customer needs.
  • Lead cross-departmental initiatives that connect go to market efforts to product experiences and innovation to drive both customer delight and business results.

Brand Development & Thought Leadership

  • Establish the company as a trusted, top-of-mind brand in the consumer finance space, combining credibility with emotional resonance.
  • Develop innovative storytelling frameworks to communicate the company’s purpose and vision, ensuring differentiation in the market.
  • Build and develop content strategy – organic and syndicated – to transform our brand position.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including 10 years in a senior leadership position overseeing both brand and performance marketing teams.
  • Proven success as a senior marketing executive, preferably as a CMO or SVP of Marketing, in a scaled consumer digital platform, fintech, or technology-driven industry.
  • Track record of driving both brand growth and business outcomes, including customer acquisition, engagement, and retention, through innovative, cross-channel campaigns.
  • Proven expertise in leading and influencing stakeholders, driving alignment on strategic initiatives, and fostering collaboration in matrixed organizations.
  • Track record of building and running a high performance team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and scale a brand identity while optimizing marketing investments for measurable growth KPIs.
  • Expertise in digital marketing channels, including performance marketing, programmatic, SEO/SEM, social media, and content marketing, with a focus on balancing immediate ROI with long-term brand equity.
  • Deep understanding of customer journey mapping and the ability to align brand touchpoints with performance outcomes for a cohesive marketing strategy.

  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with attribution models and advanced performance metrics, ensuring data-driven optimization of marketing spend.
  • Exceptional storytelling abilities to translate complex data into compelling brand narratives.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action, innovation, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Ability to cultivate a culture of followership by inspiring and empowering team members to embrace the company's vision and values
