We are seeking to hire an experienced professional for the role of Corporate Controller.  The role will be responsible for overseeing external and internal reporting, technical accounting, external audit and system improvements and more. This role requires critical thinking skills, effective organizational and execution skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong ability to build effective relationships across the company and across the globe. This role interacts with all levels of management and third parties across financial and operational projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with a mix of Big4 and industry experience and solid experience in operations. The role will be key in moving processes from current state to best-in-class, as seen in more mature companies.

This position will be based in our San Mateo headquarters and report to the VP, Chief Accounting Officer, and will be working in a hybrid model (3 days a week at the San Mateo office)

• Maintain and develop internal reporting to multiple internal stakeholders including the monthly close, key financial and operational metrics
• Manage and develop SEC reporting, technical accounting including acquisition accounting as well as accounting policies and procedures
• Maintain and develop internal control structures in collaboration with internal controls team
• Manage SOX compliance for areas of responsibility by establishing, overseeing, and maintaining financial controls and operational processes that balance control and risk management with flexibility inherent to staying nimble and fostering our entrepreneurial culture
• Oversee teams focused on transaction accounting, payroll processing, the close process and other financial controls.  Assure accuracy, timeliness and conformity with professional standards and best practice in accordance with US GAAP
• Develop an independent empowered US team that will support and be supportive to Indian accounting team
• Drive process improvement activities to accelerate and enhance the company close cycle and transactional processes, and support effective operational efficiencies
• Act as a thought partner to the CAO and a trusted partner of the CAO leadership team
• Special projects and assignments as needed

• CPA preferably, at least a bachelor’s degree within finance and accounting
• Minimum 12-15 years of accounting experience with a combination of BIG 4 public accounting and industry accounting experience with a public company
• Minimum 7 years experience leading managers and providing mentoring, coaching, and development to create high-performing teams
• Experience managing and collaborating with a global team in multiple time zones, is a plus
• Extensive experience with the general ledger, monthly close, internal and external financial reporting, technical accounting, as well as internal processes such as P2P, OTC, Payroll, revenue accounting.

• Technically savvy with systems and ability to improve processes and utilize technology to enhance productivity, reduce errors, and mitigate risks
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, proactively manage tasks and workloads while being flexible, able to adapt with short notice
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across a diverse range of departments and levels, including executive management. Ability to maintain positive, professional relationships with personnel at all levels of the organization
• Dynamic and energetic personality with a can-do attitude

The targeted annual base salary range for this position is $287,800 — $359,700 USD + Bonus & Equity

Compensation is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, job-related skills, and level.
