This is an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional from a professional services background to shape the financial future of a dynamic consulting organization. As Director of Finance, you'll partner directly with the CEO to build and lead the finance function while driving strategic decisions that impact both client engagements and overall firm performance. You will also be responsible for day-to-day financial, accounting and operational tasks, ensuring that the company maintains good financial performance while growing.

YOUR KEY OBJECTIVES
As Director of Finance, you'll be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for:
- Building and leading the finance function of a growing consulting firm
- Providing strategic financial guidance on both firm-wide initiatives and client engagements
- Developing financial models and analyses to drive business decisions
- Optimizing profitability across multiple practice areas and client portfolios
- Manage cash flow and company P&L
- Manage project P&Ls
- Collaborate with partners on contract vendor management
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting, Analysis and Planning
- Partner with the CEO to create and execute the firm's financial strategy
- Drive financial planning and analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Develop and monitor KPIs to measure business performance and profitability
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Complete year-end close for review, audit, and tax purposes.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Conduct variance analysis and report findings to management.
- Create strategies to ensure enterprise-wide program growth and implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs.
- Provide strategic recommendations for improving top and bottom-line growth
Accounting Management
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and coordinate with HR Director on payroll.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Track and analyze weekly and monthly expenses.
- Reconcile expenses to projects to determine recoverable vs. unrecoverable costs.
- Track and manage employee expense reports and reconcile them with the company financials.
Client & Project Financial Management
- Oversee project economics and profitability analysis
- Review and optimize pricing strategies and billable rates
- Manage complex client contracts and vendor relationships
- Ensure efficient project cost allocation and recovery
- Implement sophisticated project financial tracking systems
Subscription and Vendor Management
- Oversee company subscriptions and vendor payments.
- Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with vendors.
- Manage client vendor registrations, ensuring a clean handoff of all tasks, including bidding and negotiations, terms and conditions, performance, renewals and termination communications and deliverables
- Ensure event vendor contracts are reviewed and signed
Operational Excellence
- Build and optimize financial processes and controls
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense management
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations
- Lead systems integration initiatives across project management, accounting, and operations platforms
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working in a private company
- 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Deep understanding of professional services economics
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellence in stakeholder management and communication
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working within a scale-up company.
- MBA, CPA, or CMA certification
- Experience in professional services firms, consulting firms, law firms, or advertising agencies
- Track record of process improvement and systems optimization
- Experience with project-based financial management
