Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJ’s relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client’s needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.
We have partnered with a nonprofit organization in Atlanta seeking a CFO to manage the financial operations of the organization.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and objectives.
· Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, as well as other funders.
· Supervise financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow for operational needs, current and proposed programs, and revenue-generating opportunities.
· Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and other financial systems.
· Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with program and departmental leaders to create realistic and achievable budgets, and educating managers on financial matters while involving them in the budgeting process.
· Utilize technology to reduce manual data entry and reporting, ensuring organization is using up-to-date systems that meet organizational needs.
· Keep financial and accounting policies and procedures current and well-documented.
· Analyze financial data and keep senior leadership informed about organization’s financial position.
· Develop and maintain internal controls to protect the organization’s financial assets, ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal programs, as well as all funder requirements.
· Manage relationships with external auditors and other financial service providers to ensure compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements.
· Work with staff and partner organizations to develop and implement monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance for internal and external programs.
· Evaluate the financial effectiveness of programs and establish financial and administrative systems to support program operations.
· Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans that support the organization’s mission and vision.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· CPA license
· 10 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the nonprofit space
