Accountant and Bookkeeping VA exp in Healthcare Industry

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Accountant & Bookkeeping Virtual Assistant (VA) with expertise in the healthcare industry to manage financial records, ensure compliance with healthcare financial regulations, and support financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical accounting, bookkeeping, and billing while being proficient in industry-specific accounting software. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records for healthcare providers, clinics, or home care businesses.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and reimbursements.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements and maintain financial integrity.
• Handle medical billing and coding compliance in coordination with billing teams.
• Process payroll for healthcare staff, ensuring proper tax deductions and benefits management.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and tax documents specific to the healthcare sector.
• Monitor insurance reimbursements and manage revenue cycle accounting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for healthcare operations.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other healthcare financial regulations.
• Work with EMR/EHR-integrated accounting systems and tools like QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations for cost efficiency and revenue growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience in healthcare accounting, medical bookkeeping, or revenue cycle management.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or industry-specific financial software.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, and insurance reimbursement processes.
• Experience with payroll processing for medical professionals.
• Understanding of GAAP, HIPAA, and medical financial regulations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet deadlines.
• Experience working with hospitals, medical clinics, home care agencies, or private practices (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in medical accounting, healthcare finance, or QuickBooks.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance claims, and reimbursements.
• Experience with home health, hospice, or telemedicine accounting.
