In this leadership role, you will shape and execute a comprehensive product communications strategy that reinforces GoFundMe's brand and mission. You will help position GoFundMe as the leader in online giving by telling the story of how our innovative products and technology support individuals, organizations, and communities worldwide. As a key spokesperson for the company, you will engage with media and other stakeholders to amplify our product innovation stories with a broad consumer audience.

The Job…

  • Secure top-tier media coverage to reach key stakeholders for product news, focusing on consumer and business tech.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to ensure consistent, compelling messaging across all channels.
  • Lead product launches and feature announcements, including writing press releases, blog posts, product demos, and case studies.
  • Engage with the GoFundMe community to drive adoption and awareness of new products and features.
  • Develop internal relationships and attend cross-functional meetings to stay informed on key initiatives and identify strategic storytelling opportunities.
  • Draft high-level messaging, communications strategies and media assets for announcements, activations, partnerships, and product launches.

You…

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of PR/Communications experience, preferably within fintech or technology.
  • Demonstrated expertise in driving and executing product communications strategies that effectively convey product vision, value propositions, and key differentiators to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • In-house experience working closely with product teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with external audiences.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for various audiences.
  • Strong understanding of the media and technology landscape.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead multiple time-sensitive initiatives.
  • Deep experience with media relations and proven results securing coverage across a variety of media beats and tiers. Strong relationships at leading consumer tech publications.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments and can work independently to deliver results.
  • A creative and proactive storyteller who is constantly searching for media opportunities and unafraid to dig in, research, and pitch angles and ideas to the team.
  • Candidates located in the San Francisco area are strongly preferred.
