Sourcing and Procurement Consultant

Harbor is seeking a dedicated Procurement Consultant to join our Vendor Governance and Sourcing (VG+S) team. In this role, you will be embedded within a prominent law firm’s UK/ US Finance operation, supporting their global procurement function. Your responsibilities will encompass the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, contract reviews, and vendor management. This position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  This is a full-time, hybrid, position working from New York City. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Procurement Lifecycle Management: Serve as the liaison between internal stakeholders and the procurement team, facilitating requirements gathering and ensuring seamless communication. 
  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, develop sourcing strategies, and manage the Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Invitation to Bid processes. 
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service levels with suppliers. Review and manage contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Maintain and build strong relationships with suppliers, monitor performance, and implement improvement plans as necessary. 
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, emerging products, and potential risks. Provide insights to support strategic decision-making. 
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance procurement processes, implement best practices, and drive efficiencies across the procurement function. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field. 
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or a consulting environment focused on process improvement and project management. 
  • Functional knowledge of procurement processes and related technologies. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. 
  • Permanent UK work authorization. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in the legal industry or supporting professional services firms. 
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools. 
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent.
