Electrical Engineering Intern

They are vital to equipment manufacturers and end-users in the complex fabrication of semiconductors and thin film coatings for optics, flat panel displays, solar cells and industrial vacuum coating applications. Other users of our vacuum-based processes include the life sciences, research, aerospace, packaging, heat treatment, laser cutting and many other industrial processes. We also leverage our expertise in vacuum technology to provide unique, toxic chemical analysis products for emergency response, security, and environmental health and safety.

We are looking for candidates that are highly motivated and driven to assist our electrical engineering team with designing, developing, assessing, sustaining and testing intricate analog, RF and mixed-signal boards used in our products. You will gain experience in new product development, board testing, component evaluation, schematic update, product sustaining support and other Electrical Engineering areas.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Support electrical engineers with project and sustaining tasks.
• Evaluate replacement or new component for sustaining and new design efforts.
• Design and evaluate electrical circuits.
• Schematic update using CAD.  
• Work proactively or within a team environment.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Basic understanding of analog and digital design principals
• Circuit simulation using SPICE.
• Attention to details
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Education

• Majoring in electrical engineering, microelectronic, or computer engineering

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $20 and $26 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
