About the Job

The Senior Director of Inside Sales for Mid-Market & SMB will report to the Senior Vice President of Sales, North America and be responsible for leading and scaling our inside sales function. This key leadership role is tasked with driving revenue growth through the management of a high-performing sales team, optimizing sales strategies, and ensuring that the sales team consistently exceeds their targets. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in inside sales, SaaS sales processes, and team leadership, while fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and innovation.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy specifically focused on mid-market and small business customers, ensuring alignment with overall company goals
  • Lead the inside sales team to consistently exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the mid-market and SMB segments.
  • Build and maintain accurate sales forecasting models and pipeline management tools to ensure realistic growth projections
  • Inspire, manage and coach a team of Inside Sales Managers and Inside Sales Representatives focused on mid-market and small business customers
  • Define and track clear performance metrics and KPIs to ensure the team is aligned with company objectives and consistently meets or exceeds targets
  • Foster a culture of accountability, motivation, and professional growth for the inside sales team
  • Identify and optimize sales processes for shorter sales cycles and higher-volume, high-velocity sales, typical of SMB and mid-market segments.
  • Refine lead to cash strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity of the sales motion
  • Collaborate with marketing to maximize targeted lead generation and nurturing strategies
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Enablement to implement a robust sales training and coaching program tailored to the needs of mid-market and SMB sales strategies
  • Utilize CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales enablement tools to streamline processes and provide real-time visibility into sales performance
  • Leverage automation and technology to enhance the efficiency of the inside sales process and improve lead handling
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams (marketing, product, customer success) to ensure a unified approach to customer acquisition
  • Provide regular feedback on customer needs, industry trends, and competitive intelligence to inform product development and go-to-market strategies
  • Work with the marketing team to refine messaging, campaign strategies, and content that resonates with customer needs
  • Maintain and refine robust tracking and reporting mechanisms for key sales metrics, including sales volume, conversion rates, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and customer lifetime value (CLTV)
  • Use data analytics to assess team performance, identify areas for improvement, and optimize sales strategies in real-time
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on team performance, challenges, and opportunities within the mid-market and SMB segments

  • 10+ years of sales experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role within the technology industry; B2B SaaS experience required, Cybersecurity experience preferred
  • Proven track record of scaling and managing high-performing inside sales teams that consistently meet or exceed revenue targets 
  • Deep understanding of mid-market and SMB sales cycles, including rapid lead qualification and high-velocity closing
  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills with the ability to inspire and drive results in a dynamic sales environment
  • Strong understanding of sales operations and the ability to build effective systems for pipeline management and performance tracking
  • Expertise in sales enablement tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms to maximize sales efficiency
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a consultative sales approach tailored to the needs of mid-market and small business customers.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving SaaS market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time and work a flexible schedule to help lead an organization
