SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Clerk serves as an integral member of the Kennedy Valve Accounting team and is primarily responsible for keying, coding, and paying vendor invoices. The Accounts Payable Clerk will match purchase orders with receivers and work with the purchasing and receiving departments to correct any errors. The Accounts Payable Clerk will work with vendors to resolve any payment issues that may arise. The position will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining certain reports, weekly and monthly journal entries as well as general ledger account reconciliations. Attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines, and an ability to work independently are important.
Salary Range:$48,000 to $59,000
Basic Duties and Responsibilities
• Match Purchase Orders with Receivers
• Code and Key Invoices for Payment
• Scan AP paperwork for vendor files
• Work with vendors related to payment of invoices
• Other general accounting functions
• AP Account Reconciliations
• Monitor AP Email
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate’s degree in accounting, preferred
• 1-3 years accounts payable and general accounting experience
• Good computer skills; including Microsoft Word, and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
