Associate Product Manager (contingent)

Note: This position is contingent upon MO being awarded a contract by the Department of Veteran Affairs. Employment will not commence until the contract is awarded and finalized.

Overview

Are you looking to make an impact? We’re looking for an Associate Product Manager to join our team to empower technology teams to build mobile app features helping millions of Veterans get easier access to care and benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).


In this position, you’ll be working in a small, cross-functional team of Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to build services, processes, and tools that help others launch mobile functionality that meets VA’s standards. Successful candidates will have a passion for managing stakeholder groups, turning customer feedback into solutions, driving alignment, navigating blockers, and facilitating high-performing, human-centered teams to create solutions from discovery to launch and continued evolution. The willingness to tackle ambiguity and dive in to build new services and processes, sometimes from scratch, is essential.


What You'll Do
  • Own the product management process to ensure delivery of solutions in alignment with customer needs and stakeholder objectives.
  • Break down and simplify complex processes, crafting them into clear user stories, workflows, and other solutions.
  • Engage with engineers, VA stakeholders, designers, and other team members to set product direction and prioritize based on customer insights and business value.
  • Track metrics and customer feedback, leading the iteration and refinement of features to enhance customer experience.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to translate user insights into effective solution ideas.
  • Facilitating discovery sessions, prioritization workshops, roadmapping, customer interviews, and agile sprint ceremonies to bring ideas from concept to launch and continued evolution
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring continuous transparency and alignment on solution vision and progress


What We’re Looking For
  • Product Mastery: 1+ yrs demonstrated skill in product management methodologies, driving the creation and prioritization of product backlogs and/or roadmaps.
  • User-Centered Approach: experience engaging with users or user data and turning insights into user stories.
  • Digital Storytelling: proficiency in iterative solution development methodology (like agile) and in workflow management platforms (like JIRA).
  • Collaborative Excellence: experience fostering a shared vision among diverse teams.
  • Consultative Mindset: understanding of how to determine client needs, sculpt project scope, and ensure delivery of customer-centric solutions.
  • Previous experience working in a client services organization (i.e., consulting or a digital agency) is helpful but not required, as is interest in working with the government.

$95,000 - $120,000 a year
Compensation for this role is $95,000 to $111,000 Annual Salary + Benefits + Growth Potential

Placement within this range will be based on the competency level of the candidate. An offer will be made atone of the following tiers:

Tier 1: $95,000 — Meets minimum qualification/experience requirements. Beyond onboarding, will need additional guidance and training to perform key responsibilities of the role.
Tier 2: $112,000 — Experienced and fully-competent. Beyond onboarding, can independently perform key responsibilities of the role.
Tier 3: $120,000 — Highly-experienced and can perform all responsibilities of the role at a higher level than expected once onboarding is completed.
To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary range and corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable.

The contract this position supports requires US Citizenship.

In support of the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, and others like it across the country, MO's job descriptions feature the starting range we reasonably expect to pay to candidates who would join our team with little to no need for training on the responsibilities we've outlined above. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
