The College of Arts and Sciences Division of Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Spanish language and Latino/Latin American Studies. The position will join a small and collaborative department that offers a range of language- and culture-based courses and an eight-week study abroad program in Cuenca, Ecuador. The professor will teach six courses (24 semester-hours) per academic year in Spanish language, which may include beginning levels to more advanced courses in language, literature, and culture; Spanish for Heritage Speakers; Latin American Studies (taught in English) on one of the regions of Latin America (South America, Central America, or the Caribbean and one general education history course related to Latin America in English.
Required:
The candidate should be a native or near-native speaker of Spanish and have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and academic scholarship. A Ph.D. in a field of Spanish language, literature, cultural studies, or equivalent is required at the time of appointment.
