Payroll Specialist (Contract)

The Role:

Pachama is looking for a contract Payroll Specialist with hands-on expertise in Rippling to join our Finance team. This role will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and providing support for payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of payroll operations, tax regulations, and employee benefits administration.

Location: This role is a contract fully-remote position, ideally working in PT/ET timezones.

• Process end-to-end payroll for employees using Rippling while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain payroll records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and system-related issues.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to manage deductions, benefits, and compensation adjustments.
• Prepare payroll reports and ensure proper documentation for audits.
• Stay up to date with payroll regulations, tax compliance, and labor laws.
• Assist in payroll system configurations and process improvements within Rippling.

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with Rippling payroll software is required.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws, deductions, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
