Sales Development Representative - job 1 of 2

Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Hours: CST Time Zone

About Pavago:
We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our client’s growing team. In this role, you will be integral to driving new business and managing our pipeline of opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring prior sales experience, particularly in the education sector, and demonstrate a proactive approach to lead generation and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation: Perform outbound cold calling, cold emailing, and LinkedIn messaging to generate new leads for educational services. You will be responsible for making 80-120 calls per day, targeting schools, educational institutions, and decision-makers such as administrators and facilities managers to generate interest and schedule initial meetings.
  • Call Management: Conduct daily outbound calls to leads, addressing concerns, and keeping potential clients engaged throughout the sales cycle. Maintain a structured follow-up cadence to ensure no opportunities are missed.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage and track the progress of both inbound and outbound leads within the CRM (HubSpot). Ensure that leads are properly nurtured and followed up with throughout the sales cycle, helping move them toward closure.
  • Lead Qualification: Work closely with the sales team to qualify leads based on their needs and readiness for educational services. You’ll act as the first point of contact for inbound leads, helping assess their requirements and scheduling walkthroughs or demos with senior sales staff.
  • Follow-ups and Coordination: After initial meetings or demos, assist in the follow-up process, ensuring potential clients are moving forward through the sales cycle. This will involve regular communication, setting appointments, and guiding clients through the next steps.
  • Achieve Sales Metrics: Your performance will be closely tied to lead generation success and the effective management of the sales pipeline. Metrics will be based on the number of new leads generated, the volume of calls made, and the number of inbound leads you help move toward closure.
  • Education Sales Expertise: Leverage your experience in education sales to connect with schools and educational institutions. Sell services such as course development facilities, curriculum enhancement tools, and support solutions tailored to the needs of schools and their administrators.
  • Commission-Based Success: In addition to your primary responsibility of generating new leads, you will receive commission based on your lead generation efforts and the successful closure of deals you’ve helped facilitate. You'll have the opportunity to grow into closing smaller contracts independently.
  • Collaboration with Sales Team: Work closely with senior sales staff to develop proposals and coordinate next steps with clients. You’ll also collaborate with them on pricing, contracts, and client communication to support the sales process.

What Makes You a Perfect Fit:

  • Sales Enthusiast: You should be motivated, results-driven, and bring a proven track record in sales, especially in education sales.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. You’ll be contacting potential clients daily and must be able to effectively explain our services and value propositions to engage and qualify leads.
  • Goal-Oriented: Comfortable working with metrics and goals. You should be motivated by success and ready to take on the challenge of generating new leads, moving prospects through the sales pipeline, and helping close deals.
  • Self-Starter: You should be proactive and capable of working independently. The sales cycles and client interactions are often driven by you, and you'll need to manage your time effectively to balance lead generation and follow-ups.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable working with sales tools like HubSpot CRM and other basic tools like email, LinkedIn, and phone systems (training provided for HubSpot and other platforms).
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in education sales, such as selling course development facilities and support to schools, is highly preferred.

Required Skills & Tools:

  • Sales Tools: Experience with sales tools like HubSpot CRM is preferred, though training will be provided if needed.
  • Communication: Ability to engage with potential clients via cold calling, email, and LinkedIn messaging.
  • Lead Generation: Familiarity with prospecting and generating leads in the education sector is a plus.
  • Time Management: Ability to juggle multiple leads and tasks efficiently, prioritizing activities to meet targets.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?
As an SDR, your day will be spent prospecting new leads, handling inbound leads, and managing the sales pipeline. You’ll spend a portion of your time making 80-120 calls per day, sending emails, and engaging prospects on LinkedIn. You will work closely with the sales team to schedule meetings, manage follow-ups, and ensure that leads are effectively moving through the sales cycle. Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities, including managing the sales process from start to finish for smaller deals.

Interview Process:

  1. First Round Interview: A 30-minute video interview with our internal recruitment team to assess your skills and experience.
  2. Client Evaluation: Shortlisted candidates will have their profiles and interview feedback presented to the hiring team.
  3. Second Round Interview: A 30-minute session with the client’s team to assess alignment with their goals and requirements.
  4. Final Decision: Candidates will be notified of the decision within a week of completing the second interview.

Ready to Apply?
If you're excited about advancing your career in sales, helping educational institutions find the right solutions for their needs, and eager to be part of a fast-growing company, we’d love to hear from you!
