Pickle is a rental marketplace that aims to monetize the billions of underutilized assets sitting in consumers closets and brands inventory. Users can easily tap into shared closets within their community through flexible and/or on-demand delivery options. Our goal is to provide affordable and convenient access to quality items exactly when our users need them. We are starting with P2P clothing/accessories and expanding to other categories.
We’re looking for a Head of Logistics to optimize and scale our delivery operations, set reliability standards, and ensure a seamless experience for our renters and lenders.
- 6+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations.
- Proven track record of optimizing delivery operations and improving cost efficiencies.
- Experience negotiating rates with shipping providers, couriers, and logistics partners.
- Experience with price optimization to use delivery pricing as an incentive to convert customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills—able to make data-driven decisions that balance cost, speed, and user experience.
- Experience with last-mile delivery and in-person exchange logistics.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, dynamic startup environment.
- Analytical/technical skills such as SQL, dashboarding, or other forms of data analysis
Responsibilities
- Delivery Operations Management: Oversee and optimize all delivery methods, including courier services, standard shipping, and in-person meetups.
- Provider Negotiations: Lead negotiations with courier services, shipping carriers, and logistics partners to secure competitive rates and improve service levels.
- User Experience Improvements: Identify and resolve friction points in the logistics process to improve reliability, speed, and convenience for renters and lenders.
- Price Optimization: Develop and implement dynamic delivery pricing strategies to balance cost efficiency with user conversion and retention.
- Cost Optimization & Margin Expansion: Develop and implement strategies to reduce delivery costs and increase margins without compromising service quality.
- Expansion & Scaling: Build scalable logistics infrastructure to support geographic expansion into new markets.
- Performance Tracking & Analytics: Define and monitor key logistics KPIs, leveraging data insights to optimize performance and drive efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, operations, and customer support teams to align logistics strategies with user needs and business goals.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure logistics operations comply with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
