As an HR Safety Intern, you will engage with an experienced cross-functional team, including warehouse, operations, and HR staff, to analyze current safety protocols in our warehouse. You will work closely with a consultant to assess risks, recommend improvements, and develop a comprehensive safety guide to enhance workplace safety standards.
Our internships are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week, typically between 8 AM-5 PM. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the workday. Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. Key job responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing warehouse safety protocols.
- Collaborate with leadership and safety consultant to identify areas of improvement and recommend safety measures.
- Assist in developing and documenting a detailed warehouse safety guide.
- Gather and analyze data on workplace incidents and safety trends.
- Assist with conducting hazard assessments for processes and equipment, ensuring adherence to Osha safety guidelines and best practices.
- Support the implementation of recommended safety improvements.
- Communicate findings and updates to HR and operations teams.
- Assist in establishing and implementing training sessions and awareness programs related to workplace safety.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field, with an expected graduation conferral date between October 2025 – December 2028.
- Able to work up to 40 hours per week throughout the course of a 10 to 12-week summer internship between May through September 2025.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Compensation:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position is $19.00 an hour.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed primarily in a combination of warehouse and office environment with low to moderate noise levels,
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
- Position requires regular, continuous use of computer.

- This is an on-site position based in Woodridge, IL; employees are expected to be in the office five days per week.
