We are seeking a Systems Engineer with a strong Agile background to join our team in Herndon, VA. This mid-to-senior-level role will play a key part in developing, integrating, and maintaining complex systems that support critical national security missions. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative mindset, a strong systems engineering foundation, and expertise in Agile methodologies.
This role is on-site in Herndon OR Chantilly, VA. Candidate must hold an active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI with polygraph.
What you get to do.
•Lead and contribute to systems engineering efforts across the lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
•Facilitate Agile practices within the team, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
•Develop and maintain system requirements, architecture, and design documentation.
•Collaborate with software developers, hardware engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration.
•Conduct trade studies, analyses, and risk assessments to support technical decision-making.
•Perform system verification and validation to ensure all requirements are met.
•Support the transition of systems from development to operations, ensuring operational readiness.
•Maintain awareness of evolving technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and scalability.
Required Qualifications.
•Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
•Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain a CI Poly.
•Minimum eight – ten (8 – 10) years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on Agile development environments.
•Proficiency in Agile methodologies, including experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Rally.
•Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, system architecture, and integration.
•Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications.
•Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agile certification.
•Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
•Knowledge of satellite systems, geospatial technologies, or signal processing.
•Background in supporting DoD or intelligence community programs.
