We are seeking a UI Designer to join our team in Herndon, VA. This role involves designing intuitive, visually appealing, and functional user interfaces for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UI design, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating user-centric experiences that align with technical and functional requirements.
This role is on-site in Herndon OR Chantilly, VA. Candidate must hold an active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI with polygraph.
What you get to do.
•Design and create user interfaces for web and desktop applications that are both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional.
•Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into user-friendly designs.
•Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design concepts and workflows.
•Ensure all designs adhere to usability principles, accessibility standards, and performance requirements.
•Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and refine designs.
•Work closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs and maintain consistency across applications.
•Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UI/UX design.
Required Qualifications.
•Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field (or equivalent experience).
•Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain a CI Poly.
•Minimum six (6) + years of experience in UI design, with a portfolio showcasing web or desktop application designs.
•Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Adobe Creative Suite.
•Strong understanding of design principles, including color theory, typography, and layout.
•Experience designing responsive interfaces that function across multiple platforms and devices.
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications.
•Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools like JIRA or Confluence.
•Experience working on applications for defense, intelligence, or government agencies.
•Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to better collaborate with development teams.
•Understanding of geospatial technologies or satellite imagery applications.
