Director, Enterprise Compliance

At PrizePicks, we are the fastest-growing sports company in North America, as recognized by Inc. 5000. As the leading platform for Daily Fantasy Sports, we cover a diverse range of sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, and Esports titles like League of Legends and Counter-Strike. Our team of over 450 employees thrives in an inclusive culture that values individuals from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their level of sports fandom. Ready to reimagine the DFS industry together?

PrizePicks is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Enterprise Compliance to lead the development, implementation, and management of our enterprise-wide compliance program. This critical role will ensure PrizePicks effectively identifies, manages, and mitigates risks across all business operations as a paid fantasy sports operator. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a hands-on leader, and a subject matter expert in compliance, with a proven track record of building and managing comprehensive compliance programs. This role reports to the SVP, Legal & Compliance.

What you’ll do:

  • Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and enhance PrizePicks' enterprise compliance program, encompassing policies, procedures, internal controls, training, and audits.
  • Risk Management: Design and implement strategies for compliance risk management, working closely with finance, revenue, technology, product, and marketing teams to ensure company-wide compliance.
  • Policy and Program Development: Oversee the end-to-end development, delivery, and maintenance of compliance policies and programs, including in-depth policies for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and other financial regulatory compliance.
  • KYC/OFAC Compliance: Collaborate with Fraud and Product teams to develop and implement robust Know Your Customer (KYC) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies and information-sharing procedures.
  • Integrity Protection: Work closely with Fraud, Product and Responsible Gaming to ensure a comprehensive approach to protecting the company from integrity issues, including drafting new policies, contributing to incident reports, and developing post-incident work plans.
  • Data Privacy: Contribute to the company's focus on data privacy, including policy development, privacy law compliance, risk assessments, mitigation strategies, training, and auditing.
  • Consumer Protection: Work with Legal and the Sr. Director of Responsible Gaming to develop and execute strategies for "truth in advertising" standards and other consumer protection requirements.
  • Third-Party Management: Serve as the company's subject matter expert on third-party requirements (e.g., payment processors, banks, and credit card companies).
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor and analyze changes to relevant non-gaming laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and assess their impact on PrizePicks' operations.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance reviews to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Compliance Issue Management: Ensure that compliance issue remediation efforts are sufficient and timely, reviewing action plans and remediation documentation to support event closure. Participate in root cause analysis and identify customer experience improvement activities.
  • Team Development: Contribute to the operation of a high-performing regulatory compliance team, defining roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations, and mentoring team members.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to employees on relevant compliance requirements.
  • Reporting: Develop and deliver regular reports on compliance activities, risks, and trends to senior management.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Law, Finance).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in compliance, risk management, or internal control, preferably within the gaming, financial services, or financial technology industries.
  • Deep understanding of AML checks and protections, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to uncover root causes and key risk trends from a wide variety of data sources and create detailed action plans to improve fraud and AML risk.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience working with higher-risk market verticals.
