We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fabrication Operations Manager to oversee multiple structural steel fabrication facilities. As the Fabrication Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety across our fabrication operations in York, PA, and Richmond, VA.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of multiple steel fabrication facilities, ensuring streamlined production and top-tier quality.
  • Lead and manage a team of production supervisors, fitters, welders, machinists, and support staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize manufacturing processes and meet production targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, logistics) to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  • Enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment for all employees.
  • Manage fabrication schedules, ensuring timely project completion and resource allocation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in fabrication techniques and workflow processes.
  • Monitor production costs and assist with cost projections, providing valuable input to the team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational guidelines, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to maintain high product standards and conduct regular inspections.
  • Manage procurement processes, ensuring the timely availability of materials and inventory management.


Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a managerial role within steel fabrication or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, industry equipment, and standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera) is a plus.
  • Experience with Tekla PowerFab is an advantage, but not required.
  • Knowledge of fabrication tools, welding equipment, rigging, and safety standards.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel between facilities, with occasional overnight stays.


Travel and Work Hours:
  • This role requires travel to multiple fabrication shops in York, PA and Richmond, VA. Most travel is day-to-day, but overnight stays may be necessary.
  • A minimum 50-hour workweek is required, typically from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the potential for additional hours on weekends as needed.
