Startup Community & Founder Growth Intern (Marketing & Engagement) (Australia)

About Reapra

At Reapra, we are pioneering a fundamentally different approach to venture building. We believe in taking the time to support potential founders in developing their vision to solve long-term systemic challenges. We see their startups as the first step towards creating future industries that will benefit generations to come. For us, people and their deep commitment to these challenges come first—beyond short-term ideas.

Because of this philosophy, our approach to sourcing potential founders—starting with deep self-discovery—and the way we operate internally differs from most companies and venture capital firms.

This internship is not suited for those looking to gain technical experience in investment analysis, legal counsel, operations data, or other traditional corporate or VC responsibilities. Instead, we seek individuals who are entrepreneurial, passionate about building communities, and deeply engaged in marketing and ecosystem development. This is a hands-on role for those eager to work in a fast-paced, highly dynamic, and innovative environment.

About the Role

As a Startup Community & Founder Growth Intern (Marketing & Engagement) (Australia) (Paid), you will play an integral role in fostering meaningful connections and strengthening the Reapra Australia community. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about community engagement, supporting entrepreneurial talent, and contributing to a long-term, founder-first approach to venture-building.

We are looking for candidates who are deeply invested in the Australian startup ecosystem and want to contribute to its growth in the long run. This is not a traditional VC internship; you will work closely with the Reapra Australia team, taking small, quick actions to create impact through community building, founder pipeline development, and brand awareness.

Through hands-on involvement in events, content creation, founder pipeline development, and strategic community-building efforts, you will gain valuable exposure to the inner workings of venture growth and founder support. This role offers the potential for greater responsibilities in founder engagement, partnership development, and venture-building support over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing events, meetings, and initiatives designed to foster connection and collaboration within the Reapra Australia community, both online and offline.
  • Support in developing an engaged and active community through consistent communication and outreach.

  • Identify and engage with potential founders within the community, helping them navigate the journey of self-discovery and venture alignment.
  • Develop strategies to support aspiring founders and integrate them into the Reapra ecosystem.

Content Curation & Creation:

  • Create and manage content for social media and community platforms to enhance visibility, engagement, and awareness of Reapra’s mission and values.
  • Support in shaping Reapra’s brand narrative in the Australian startup ecosystem through storytelling and thought leadership.

  • Assist in developing and nurturing relationships with like-minded organisations within the Australian startup ecosystem.
  • Support collaborative initiatives that strengthen the presence and impact of Reapra in the community.

  • Contribute to refining community engagement strategies based on real-world insights and experiences.

Operational & Logistical Support:

  • Provide support to the Reapra Australia team in managing community logistics, communications, and other operational tasks.

Self-Exploration & Alignment:

  • Actively engage in self-reflection and explore your own alignment with Reapra’s values and methodology, including participation in internal workshops and discussions related to our unique approach to venture building.

Work Requirements (Qualifications):

  • Must be based in Australia and deeply committed to contributing to the Australian startup economy.
  • Highly proficient in English (verbal and written).
  • Experience in social media management, community engagement, or partnership development.
  • Prior experience in building and growing communities (both online and offline) is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated passion for startups, entrepreneurship, and creating a positive impact.

Skills & Interests:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and empathy.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a flexible, remote setting.
  • Genuine interest in self-understanding and personal growth.
  • Openness to exploring new ways of learning and contributing to the creation of something new.

Expectations:

  • Strong willingness to align with Reapra’s methodology, mission, and vision.
  • Proactive and committed work ethic.
  • Ability to manage and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Enthusiasm for the startup landscape and a desire to contribute to innovative efforts in venture building.
  • Commitment to self-understanding and personal growth. You will be expected to participate in internal discussions and workshops related to self-discovery and alignment with Reapra’s values.
  • A strong ability to independently manage projects and drive continuous improvement within the community.

  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals in the startup and impact investing space.
  • The opportunity to shape and refine a groundbreaking entrepreneurial framework that prioritizes people and long-term vision.
