Project Management Specialist II

Redwood Credit Union is looking for Facilites Technician who will be responsible for managing complex, strategic projects with a focus on leading, planning, implementing, and executing projects. This role involves meeting commitments and communicating with sponsors, stakeholders, and management.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Project Management

• Manage assigned projects with varying degrees of complexity, including strategic projects, from initiation to closure.

• Accountable for project results and holding the project sponsor accountable to project results.

• Facilitate project initiation, including defining the project objective, scope, risks, and resource requirements.

• Resolve conflicts within the project team.

• Develop methods to monitor project progress and provide corrective supervision as needed.

• Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.

• Follow RCU’s project management methodology and ensure adherence to the methodology.

• Present oral and/or written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.

• Proactively engage present and future stakeholders in design, priority setting, and implementation.

• Create a sense of belonging and ownership among team members; assemble a project team with the right mix of skills; coach and motivate team members; delegate responsibility; promote mutual support and interaction.

• Consult and provide advice, facilitate discussion, and resolve conflict; establish trust; build and use cross-functional relationships to accomplish work objectives.

• Ensure that project status, issues, and successes are communicated to the project team, stakeholders, sponsors, and all levels of management and documented appropriately.

• Address delicate situations and handle conflicts to maximize opportunity and minimize exposure to risk.

• Prioritize own and project work and anticipate consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change.

• Set and meet realistic project deadlines and communicate current and projected issues; escalate as appropriate.

• Understand how and when to escalate issues to higher levels; analyze risks and future impact of decisions.

• Make decisions and take timely independent action to achieve stated project priorities.

• Initiate and implement improvements to workflow and processes.

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Executive team, Senior management, and team members through regular communication.


Project Support

• Support project owners in the development of project plans and milestones.

• Follow up with project owners to ensure all projects are on schedule and completed on time.

• Develop testing plans with project owners to ensure effective and timely testing.

• Ensure project owners develop communication plans and execute them prior to project roll-out.

• Recommend improved processes to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of project planning across the organization.

• Provide training to project owners/managers on the project management process.

• Provide necessary support to the PGC, including agenda creation and meeting notes distribution.



Minimum Qualification: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in operating a PC with knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Smartsheet software with Internet/intranet access.
  • Preferred working knowledge of financial services, credit union industry and regulations, terminology, and procedures.
  • Ability to understand the implications of credit union regulations and their impact to projects.
  • Strong organization, research, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Ability to analyze risks and future impact of decisions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and be resourceful.
  • Ability to document information clearly, accurately, and completely.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques, and tools: Initiation. Design: definition/scope/requirements. Implementation & Control: scope, work plans, resources, deliverables, testing, monitoring, transition planning. Close: completion and assessment.
  • Strong and tested project management skills.


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, and reach overhead, twist, and turn.
  • Ability to lift up to twenty pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Work environment is indoors; majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.


Licenses and Certifications
  • Ability to obtain Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.


The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, or closely related field and a minimum of five years of project management experience.


Compensation: Base starting range: $101,691 to $134,003 annually commensurate with experience.

Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
