Job Overview
We are a recruitment agency that acts as an EOR (Employer of Record) company looking for a part-time Accountant with operational accounting experience to support internal financial operations. You’ll handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and bank account oversight. This role is currently 30 hours/month with potential to grow in scope, especially as we scale our EOR-focused sister company.
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping in QBO – Maintaining and Improving
• Maintain our Quickbooks Online account and keep financial records accurate.
• Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
• Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, and bank accounts.
• Manage payroll funding accounts, aligning with client contracts and EOR structure.
Payroll Processing & Compliance
• Manage semi-monthly payroll and track guaranteed hours.
• Assist us in staying compliant with multi-state payroll laws and tax requirements.
• Process payroll-related adjustments and deductions when needed.
• Handle state tax and unemployment accounts, including new registrations.
• Assist in forecasting payroll costs and managing accruals.
• Prepare tax documentation 1099’s for employees.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) – Budgeting, Forecasting & Actuals
• Develop, track, and analyze annual budgets, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Provide variance analysis and financial reporting to leadership.
• Refine current payroll, compliance, and accounting processes for scalability.
Qualifications
• 8+ years in accounting, ideally with experience in staffing, EOR, or payroll management.
• Deep knowledge of QBO, Excel (especially PivotTables), and multi-state payroll laws.
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll, compliance, and state tax registrations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to someone who doesn’t understand the topic
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
• CPA certification highly preferred
• Bonus: Experience with “guaranteed hours” payroll models.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 7 – 8 per week
