Senior Digital Events Specialist

Ripple Effect is seeking a proactive and organized Senior Digital Events Specialist with government or non-profit event-planning experience to join Ripple Effect's Communication and Outreach Division. The ideal candidate will be a professional responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of digital or virtual events.

You will play a pivotal role in bringing together interested parties, coordinating logistics, and leveraging technology to create engaging and impactful online event experiences. General Information  

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate high-visibility tasks to lead a large range of events across multiple clients
  • Performs initial planning, logistics, vendor management, implementation, tracking progress on task deliverables, timelines, quality, and final event measurement reporting
  • Participates in client meetings, including creating agendas and slide development, facilitating meetings, taking notes, and tracking action items
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with clients and vendors
  • Manages all components of the event's lifecycle (pre-, day-of, and post-event) including building and managing event budgets, creating and monitoring registration sites, uploading content on websites, drafting event-related emails, plans, and social media, developing vendor RFPs, sourcing, negotiating, and selecting vendors, securing room blooks, making travel arrangements, responding to attendee and client questions, providing day-of support, reviewing and analyzing survey responses, drafting and reviewing meeting summaries, and reconciling invoices
  • Manages a shared conferences email box and respond to event attendees’ questions
  • Prepares, edits, compiles, and distributes conference materials such as digital or hard copy program books, agenda, briefing materials, PowerPoints, travel and hotel information, etc
  • Prepares post-event reports including event summaries, key insights and take-aways, and event metrics
  • Collects, cleans, analyzes, and interprets data generated from events to identify trends, patterns, and key insights that inform strategic decision-making and optimize future event strategies
  • Uses data visualization tools to present findings to stakeholders and drive actionable results
  • Creates social media promotional campaign timeline and develop content for events and other initiatives
  • Builds monthly and quarterly content plans, email marketing campaigns, and newsletters
  • Performs other duties related to the core functions of the role

Minimum Education and Experience  

  • Completed High School
  • 7 or more years of professional experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in supporting digital events

Basic Requirements

  • Experience coordinating government or non-profit event planning initiatives for clients
  • Experience using event platforms like Zoom, Cvent, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of social media, email marketing platforms, and digital marketing strategies and best practices
  • Experience analyzing events, social media and website metrics
  • Ability to prioritize among multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills for face-to-face interactions with clients, co-workers, and leadership and preparing high quality, client-ready deliverables
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of web-based systems such as SharePoint and Teams
  • Ability and willingness to report to our Headquarters office (located in Rockville, MD) on a hybrid basis (weekly) and to event sites as needed

Skills That Set You Apart

  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and/or Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP)
  • Experience with government consulting
  • Experience with any of Ripple Effect's current clients such as CMS, NIH, AHRQ, or PCORI
