The VP, Growth reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the commercial organization at Science 37, which is inclusive of all Sales functions. The role requires a combination of strong consulting and solution-selling skills, understanding of the sales cycle/processes and business development skills. The VP, Growth leads all Sales Teams including Inside Sales and Outside Growth channels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop strategic direction, organizational structure, and plans for Science 37 regarding all sales functions.
- Lead inside sales and outside sales teams teams to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
- Develop annual sales plans including; territory design, team and individual sales targets on a per territory and per market verticals basis.
- Collaborates with strategic pricing and solutions teams to develop high-quality solutions for clients
- Collaborate with the marketing functions to develop annual marketing plans and programs.
- Manage the sales pipeline to ensure accurate and adequate opportunity inflow to reach sales targets.
- Develop a sales life cycle management process and instill life cycle tracking in the CRM system.
- Develop a client advisory program that aims to understand client problems as they begin to use and adopt the solution.
- Develop annual sales forecasts and manage the team to those objectives.
- Establish and monitor progress against both leading and lagging key performance indicators.
- Identify and develop new market opportunities for the company’s solution portfolio.
- Develop and administer incentive plans which entice individuals as well as teams to perform successfully against sales objectives.
- Maintain a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top quality personnel.
- Recruit, train, supervise, support, and mentor qualified personnel.
- Conduct performance reviews, calibration sessions, and feedback discussions with direct reports in a timely, frequent, and in a direct manner that is consistent with the company-wide keystone focus.
- Performs competency assessments across their team and implements and monitors development plans with direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred and/or equivalent applicable experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, relevant degree program such as business management, marketing, or life science, a plus.
- 15+years of experience in sales roles of increasing scope and responsibility.
- 5+ years of experience in the life science industry, with experience in Pharmaceutical and CRO industries.
- Demonstrated success in defining and launching novel, disruptive technology and services in an established market
- Demonstrated success in defining, launching, and maintaining excellent services in the Pharmaceutical and/or CRO industries
- While the initial focus is in the United States, global experience is a plus
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to clearly develop and articulate a long-term strategic vision, as well as short-term goals and objectives to drive performance and results.
- Must have demonstrated experience presenting to diverse audiences including but not limited to employees, customers, key opinion leaders, investors, and Board of Directors.
- Experience in a fast growth environment and a decentralized environment.

Capabilities
- Up to 35% travel, as needed, for project team meetings, client presentations and other professional meetings/conferences as needed
