  • $80,000 - $90,000 (FTE) per annum + superannuation
  • Full time (1.0) ongoing position
  • Located in Melbourne with hybrid conditions (3 days in the office)
  • As is the nature of events, the successful candidate will need to engage in occasional early starts, evenings, weekend and interstate work as required.

The purpose of the Event Manager position is to lead the events team to deliver high quality in-person, hybrid and virtual events. As the Event Manager, you will be leading the project management of multiple events at any one time, providing creative ideas, detailed end to end planning and outstanding customer service. You will develop and maintain supportive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and actively demonstrate a commitment to the values and vision of the organisation.

Who you are (essential):

  • You can demonstrate significant leadership experience, capable of leading a diverse team and motivating team members to achieve excellence.
  • You have excellent project and event management skills, including meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines.
  • You possess demonstrated time management, administrative, and organisational skills, ensuring smooth operations and effective event execution.
  • You can demonstrate proven experience in the events industry, with a strong track record of delivering both online and in-person events.
  • You exhibit clear written and verbal communication skills, essential for collaborating and working effectively both autonomously and as a member of a team.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other online video conferencing systems.
  • You can demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment, receptive to positive and constructive feedback.
  • You are able to work outside of normal business hours as required by event schedules.
  • You maintain a positive, can-do attitude, essential for navigating the dynamic challenges of event management.

Who you might be (desirable):

  • You may hold a degree or certification in Events or Marketing.
  • You may have graphic design skills in Photoshop and InDesign.
  • You may bring experience managing both in-person and virtual events.
  • You may possess a First Aid Certificate.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end event planning, coordination, and production of online and in-person events for clients, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Work closely with Event Coordinators and Event Officers, providing guidance and support throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Take full responsibility for event budgeting, ensuring all events are delivered within the agreed financial parameters.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional customer service and building strong, long-term relationships.
  • Lead and mentor junior event staff (Event Coordinators and Event Officers), fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans to mitigate potential event challenges.
