And we need you to direct our field operations to help us become a leader in this new burgeoning sector in the renewable energy industry. 

About the role 

The recycling Sr. Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting, optimizing, and enhancing the processes and equipment within the Cedartown, GA recycling facility (known as “REC3”). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced manufacturing operations, preferably within the semiconductor industry.  The ideal candidate will have experience optimizing processes and machines to achieve yield and productivity, while at the same time leading projects to reduce costs of materials and labor. Additionally, the candidate should be a strong project manager, capable of handling complex projects and using project management tools like Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.  

The position is based in the greater Atlanta area, with an expectation to relocate to Cedartown, Georgia, within 1-2 months. Initially the role will require travel to Odessa, TX, where our first-generation solar panel recycling facility is located. 

 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Improve process capability/defect reduction/throughput for high volume manufacturing using statistical process control, DOE techniques, data driven decision making and systematic problem-solving skills.   
  • Work with site Facilities, Safety, and Maintenance engineering teams to cultivate an environment of “safety first” for those engaging in process and equipment changes and in tool service activities 
  • Create detailed technical specifications for controls schemas, ensuring the Operations team can understand the basics of how the equipment works. Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for any manufacturing processes 
  • Lead and manage projects related to equipment automation and optimization, utilizing Smartsheet project management software and action-based plans to ensure timely and successful project completion. 
  • Ensure all processes and systems meet safety standards and regulatory compliance, implementing necessary safety interlocks and protocols. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and process issues to minimize downtime and enhance system performance. 
  • Define process flows, develop new processes, and ensure successful transfer of new technologies to manufacturing 
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment, ensuring it is integrated into the control system infrastructure 
  • Monitor process and system performance using Statistical Process Control (SPC), create and execute Out of Control Action Plans (OCAP) and apply diagnostic tools to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements 
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in control systems technology, make recommendations to the management on opportunities for improvement 

 

TRAVEL RESPONSIBILITIES 

This role requires frequent travel to our SOLARCYCLE recycling facility in Odessa, TX. The requirement to spend multiple weeks at a time in Odessa may arise. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.  

 EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-related discipline 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, or equivalent industry 
  • Experience in data analytics, DOE, SPC and 8D methods and related Quality systems 
  • English language fluency, multilingual a plus 
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience using tech-enabled project management software such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in a team environment. 
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities. 
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in rapid communications using a mobile device and laptop. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite  
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and process
