Engineering Team Manager, API & Service Frameworks

Squarespace is looking for an Engineering Team Manager to lead the API and Service Frameworks team, a pivotal part of the Platform group. This team, responsible for our public-facing API gateway and internal Java-based service framework, plays a crucial role in keeping services across all of Squarespace current and operational. The frameworks they develop are widely used by product and platform teams, making this a role with significant influence and visibility. You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Backend Platform team in our NYC office. This is a hybrid opportunity with three days in the office per week.

• Believe internal platform teams should have a product mindset toward our internal customers - we're building things to help product engineers go to market faster, not just because something is cool.
• Are known for your communication skills and collaborating well with technical and nontechnical stakeholders across organizations
• Are good at service-oriented architecture design and best practices
• Have 6+ years of backend programming experience in Spring and Java
• Have 2+ years of prior tech lead, team lead, or engineering management experience

Cash Compensation Range: $153,500 - $247,250 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
