Hours: Monday - Friday 9AM-5PM (in your timezone, flexible hours)
Pay: $133,000 - $200,000 CAD

The Role

Joining the Performance (Brand Media) department as our Director, Brand Media Strategy, you will lead Thrive's brand media service innovation and strategic growth by developing industry-leading measurement frameworks and driving enterprise-level client success through advanced media buying and publisher negotiations. Champion the integration of brand with performance strategies through cross functional collaboration to advance Thrive's full-funnel offering. Help to build and mentor high-performing teams that deliver exceptional client outcomes through hands-on support in platforms, guidance and advocacy.

Your focus will of responsibilities will be:

  • Domain: Recognized as a leader in top of funnel media buying both within Thrive and in the industry, you have a track record of impressive internal project and people results and a proven ability to drive the company's future success.
    • Example: You'll lead teams in the research, media planning and strategic demand generation roadmaps across some of our largest brands, drawing from your deep industry expertise to identify and capitalize on new opportunities. You consistently deliver impressive results that showcase both your technical expertise and ability to drive business impact through brand media.
  • Client: Lead internal client success for upper funnel services at Thrive on Tier 1 projects through active leadership that influences long-term growth, innovation and client retention.
    • Example: You own relationships with priority publishers and key Tier 1 clients, leading high-level conversations about upper funnel strategy and consistently delivering insights that drive long-term value. You proactively identify opportunities for innovation and growth while maintaining strong client relationships that result in high retention rates and expanded partnerships.

  • People: Lead and build a high-performing brand / upper funnel service offering by operating as a coach who leads a team of expert marketers and advocates who help to innovate and champion the future of growth marketing.
    • Example: You cultivate and mentor a team of expert marketers, fostering an environment of innovation and continuous learning. You identify opportunities for team development, provide strategic guidance on complex projects, and help team members develop their expertise in upper funnel strategies while pushing the boundaries of growth marketing.

  • Company: Develop and execute a roadmap and provide actionable insights that focus on elevating Thrive's brand media service offering, and how to bridge into a full funnel offering.
    • Example: You drive the strategic vision for Thrive's brand media services, creating and implementing a comprehensive roadmap that connects upper funnel activities with full-funnel performance. You collaborate across departments to identify opportunities for service expansion and lead initiatives that strengthen our position as a full-service growth marketing partner.

 

We’re committed to delivering an exceptional onboarding experience that will create a strong foundation for your launch in this role:

  • In your first 30 days, you'll immerse yourself in Thrive's media practice, connecting with key stakeholders across Performance, Data & Measurement, and Creative teams. You'll begin evaluating our current measurement frameworks and media strategies while reviewing our existing approaches to enterprise clients and major media partners. This initial period will focus on understanding our client portfolio, team dynamics, and identifying immediate opportunities for innovation in our upper-funnel offerings.

  • In your first 60 days, you'll take ownership of select enterprise-level media negotiations and begin shaping our strategic approach to brand marketing. You'll lead the development of comprehensive measurement frameworks that connect brand initiatives to business outcomes, while working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance our full-funnel capabilities. You'll also start transforming complex media data into compelling C-suite narratives that drive investment decisions.

  • In your first 90 days, you'll be hands on and lead brand media growth opportunities (alongside Client Growth Leadership), driving innovation and implementing scalable buying frameworks across the organization. You'll establish thought leadership programs to enhance team capabilities in upper-funnel marketing and create roadmaps that position Thrive as a comprehensive marketing partner. Your strategic vision will be instrumental in evolving our brand marketing services and driving client success.

 

Qualifications

  • You've managed brand media portfolios exceeding $50M annually across multiple enterprise clients, consistently delivering measurable business impact through integrated upper-funnel strategies.

  • You've led enterprise-level negotiations with major media platforms and publishers, securing competitive advantages and developing scalable buying systems that drive client success.

  • You've built and implemented comprehensive measurement frameworks that successfully connected brand initiatives to business outcomes, gaining C-suite buy-in for significant marketing investments across a range of verticals.

  • You've mentored and developed teams of 10+ professionals, elevating their capabilities in brand strategy and upper-funnel marketing while maintaining strong team retention.

  • You've created and executed innovative media buying strategies through advanced audience research and investment scenario planning, leading to increased client investment and expansion of services.

  • You have in-depth, hands-on experience in programmatic and upper funnel digital channels/tools such as (but not limited to) DV360, CM360, CTV, Audio + Podcasts, DOOH, driving adoption and proving incremental business impact.

 

Competitive Total Compensation Package
