Job Description

As our Marketing Manager, you'll spearhead engaging demand generation campaigns for the Africa Tech Festival - connecting over 15,000 attendees in Cape Town every November. You'll:

  • Own the client demand generation strategy for our event portfolio
  • Expand client data, build authority, and generate interest
  • Work closely with sales to identify opportunities and overcome challenges
  • Create and execute multi-channel campaigns across all stages of the buyer journey

Your key responsibilities:

  • Develop data-driven strategies to build pipeline and target new segments
  • Create compelling content that engages, entertains, and educates audiences
  • Design frictionless customer journeys that support qualified pipeline
  • Collaborate with sales to develop effective enablement materials
  • Experiment with new messaging and positioning through A/B testing
  • Analyze campaign performance and apply insights to future initiatives

You'll drive growth across key metrics:

  • Overall ROI of marketing strategies
  • Net new leads and engagement metrics
  • MQLs, SQLs, and pipeline volume/revenue
  • Closed/won deals and contribution to overall SPEX target

This is initially a 12-month maternity cover with potential to become permanent.

Qualifications

  • B2B Event Marketing Experience is preferrable.
  • Marketing experience with results across search, display, social and email channels.
  • Experience of using relevant, engaging content to attract and nurture prospects from ToF to a client.
  • A customer-first mindset – and an interest in the tech sector!
  • Time management – Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment, manage multiple projects, and stakeholders, within set deadlines whilst maintaining quality output is crucial
  • Data Analysis – Ability to analyse historical and current data across channels to refine campaigns timeously and set them up for success
  • Strategic Thinking – You will need to be able to create, deliver and execute current campaigns whilst thinking about the overall objective of expanding client data, building authority, and generating interest in Africa Tech Festival, resulting in SQLs
  • Team Work and Communication – Have a strong ability to communicate (written, verbal and presenting) and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders from Sales and Audience Marketing to Production, Operations and Customer Success, AND clients – with the ultimate goal of ensuring all client deliverables are met timely and the client has a positive customer experience the moment they sign on.
