Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as WMATA's representative for the assigned task orders with responsibilities for all phases
- of the project;
- Ensure all required tasks are performed on time and within budget;
- Engage specifically in planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety,
- and coordination of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff;
- Manage stakeholder relationships;
- Develop project scopes, prepare reports, develop, and maintain schedules and budgets, and
- ensure quality reviews are complete;
- Identify scheduling, cost variances, and make recommendations for corrective action for negative
- variances; and
- Resolve issues with contractors in a timely manner and ensure that all aspects of the task order
- remain on schedule and within budget.
Background and Experience Required
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field;
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in transit and transportation projects;
- A minimum of three (3) years working on a multiple task order contract;
- Successful completion of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction Course;
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of project management, to coordinate, review and provide expert technical management for the assigned task orders;
- Knowledge of project controls, including critical path method scheduling and budgetary control systems;
- Ability to independently organize and carry out assignments with minimum direction as well as ability to function effectively as a leader of highly professional personnel; and
- Ability to communicate effectively.
1099 Rate Range: $85 – $110
Location: WMATA New Carrollton Office Building, 4100 Garden City Dr, Hyattsville, MD 20785 (Full-Time, 18 months (subject to renewal) - Hybrid, 2 days a week)
Work Hours: The normal work hours will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
