  • Take daily attendance using a personal device (mobile phone) or a school-issued laptop.
  • Communicate professionally with school staff and Toolkit Tutors leadership.

We are looking for tutors who meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (completed, or close to completion showing strong academic performance).
  • At least one year of experience teaching or tutoring in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience working with urban school communities and an understanding of the challenges students face.
  • Strong content knowledge in ELA, including reading comprehension, literary analysis, and structured writing.
  • Punctual, reliable, and committed to student success.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students effectively.
  • Ability to commute to the school location in Queens.
  • DOE fingerprint clearance strongly preferred.
  • Pay Rate of $35 per hour
  • Paid sick leave
  • Paid training and PD opportunities
