Regional Director of Construction, Tri-State Division

Location: This position is based in New York City and requires regular travel to various project sites in 

Connecticut.

We're seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead and manage construction activities across multiple sites in the Northeast region. With over 10 projects scheduled for construction in Connecticut in 2025, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative approach to housing. The role involves coordinating multiple construction managers, establishing budgets, and maintaining project schedules to ensure successful project delivery.

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of multiple construction managers across various sites to ensure seamless project execution
• Establish and oversee project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality
• Develop, enforce, and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion of construction activities
• Ensure that all projects meet Vessel Technologies’ standards for design, safety, and environmental impact
• Provide regular progress updates to senior management and key stakeholders, highlighting achievements and addressing challenges
• Ensure that all construction activities adhere to local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
• Anticipate potential risks and implement proactive measures to address them effectively

• Proven experience managing construction crews of at least five people, including hiring, training, and performance management. Must have experience making tough personnel decisions, including terminations​
• Extensive hands-on experience in construction, having worked their way up from roles like carpenter, foreman, or superintendent. Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry best practices​
• Regulatory Knowledge & Compliance: Deep knowledge of building codes, regulations, and inspection processes. Must be OSHA-certified and experienced in working with code officials to ensure compliance and successful project approvals​
• Ability to identify early warning signs of project issues, safety hazards, or compliance risks and take proactive measures to mitigate them​
• A self-starter who takes ownership of projects, drives efficiency, and seeks innovative solutions to improve processes and project outcomes​
• Strong ability to liaise with inspectors, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep projects on track and in compliance
