Job Description

General Summary Of Duties:

Oversee all aspects of Sports Book gaming operations, ensuring compliance with departmental rules, regulations, and wagering limits. Develop and enforce policies and procedures, monitor gaming regulations, and promote the Sports Book through effective public relations and customer engagement strategies. 

Qualifications

Roles and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

1. Manage daily Sports Book operations, ensuring high-quality service in alignment with hotel guidelines. This includes training, counseling, selecting, and disciplining staff.

2. Ensure compliance with state gaming regulations, applying them to Sports Book operations and personnel.

3. Develop and implement Sports Book promotional activities.

4. Draft and update departmental rules, regulations, and internal communications.

5. Handle customer relations, including issuing complimentary services as appropriate.

6. Review, edit, and approve Race & Sports payroll.

7. Track and manage team member vacation requests and submit necessary documentation.

8. Monitor cash variances and enforce attendance policies; administer progressive discipline as needed.

9. Order and manage office supplies, printed materials, and parlay cards.

10. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.

Ability to act independently while analyzing data and drawing conclusions.

1. Ability to independently analyze data and make informed decisions.

2. Remain composed and effective during peak business periods, serving as a role model. Resolve customer concerns by thoroughly analyzing situations and implementing appropriate solutions.

3. Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, to direct staff and provide clear instructions. Monitor team performance, offer feedback, and adjust staffing levels as needed.

4. Ability to manage interruptions while maintaining focus and efficiency.

5. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to complete reports, enforce procedures, and interact with staff, superiors, and guests.

6. Capacity to comprehend verbal and written English instructions, especially in emergency situations.

7. Strong leadership skills to provide guidance and direction to staff.

8. Ability to operate and troubleshoot office equipment, including multi-line telephones, computers, and surveillance systems.

9. Basic mathematical proficiency for calculating wins and losses.

10. Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

11. Ability to maintain vigilance and composure throughout the shift, particularly in high-pressure situations.

12. General knowledge of labor laws, staffing needs, and guest relations within a Sports Book setting.

13. Ability to supervise, train, counsel, and discipline staff effectively.

14. Familiarity with control procedures to safeguard gaming assets.

15. Ability to address and resolve various challenges with sound judgment and discretion.

16. Commitment to maintaining professional appearance standards.

Additional Information

Education Requirements

  1. Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  2. Ability to obtain/renew all government required licenses or certification.  [Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Gaming Work Permit]
