MUST BE PERMANET IN THE CIVIL SERVICE CLERICAL ASSOCIATE TITLE OR IF YOU ARE HIRED PROVISIONALLY AS A CLERICAL ASSOCIATE, YOU MUST TAKE AND PASS THE CLERICAL ASSOCIATE CIVIL SERVICE EXAM WHEN IT BECOMES AVAILABLE FOR CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT.

The New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) provides temporary help to individuals and families with social service and economic needs to assist them in reaching self-sufficiency via essential and diverse programs/services, such as: temporary Cash Assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), childcare, eviction prevention services, adult protective services, job training, employment plans/support, domestic violence assistance, child support enforcement, etc. The employees of Employment & Support Services Administration- Career Services help provide unique individual services to eligible New Yorkers aimed towards the achievement of long-term self-sufficiency.

Business Link is a division of the New York City Human Resources Administration. Business Link is responsible for matching employers with jobseekers who have the skills that employers are seeking; provides free job placement services; hosts job fairs, maintains a repository of job seekers and offers alerts by text message through its TEXT2Work program. Business Link is the recruitment arm of the agency and works closely with the community and employers to fill job orders, provide free job placement, and offer subsidized job training opportunities to Cash Assistance recipients and low-income individuals in New York City.

The Career Services is recruiting for one (1) Clerical Associate to function as HireNYC Clerical Associate. Under the general direction of the Project Manager for HireNYC: Human Services the HireNYC Clerical Associate II assists the Project Manager by performing a variety of administrative functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Checks records for accuracy of information (e.g., crosschecks that the aggregate number of hires credited to a provider on one report matches the sum of individual hires credited to that provider on another report, checks the Welfare Management System for Cash Assistance case status on the date of hire).

- Maintains an electronic record for each provider, including correspondence between the providers and Business Link, Implementation Plans, Hire Sheets, Requests For Modification of Hiring Requirement, correspondence from DSS Office of Legal Affairs regarding requests for Full of Partial Exemptions from the Hiring Requirement; and correspondence from Agency Chief Contracting Officer and/or DSS Program Contracting Officers.

- Collects information from the Business Link Account Management (AM) and Job Development (JD) teams regarding provider engagement (e.g. Did the provider share jobs, consider Business Link referrals and provide feedback on those referrals?) and communications between the providers and the AM and JD teams).

- Communicates with providers regarding the number of hires on submitted Hire Sheet that count toward a provider’s Public Assistance Hiring Requirement, the outcome of Requests for Hiring Modification, invites to HireNYC informational sessions and compliance outcomes.

- Inform job seekers of employment opportunities and next steps such as how to apply.

- Data enters new employer accounts, associated contract data (e.g., contract number, agency, start date, end date and award amount) and new hire data into the Business Link system).

Correct Salary Range: $36,971- $ $42,517

Work Location: 123 William Street New York, NY 10038

Hours/Schedule: 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM Flex

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
