Pilot Facility Development Associate Scientist

We have an opportunity for a Pilot Facility Development Support Services (DSS) Associate Scientist in Andover, MA for Worldwide Research & Development Manufacturing (WRDM). The role is part of a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and technicians focused on media and buffer solution preparation. This role is an integral part to achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe.

Responsibilities could Include:

• Prepare stock and custom buffers and media in volumes ranging from 50ml to 500L.
• Develop and test buffers and media to meet customer specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues with media and buffer performance.
• Develop formulation documents intended to serve as reference documents in the creation of Manufacturing Formulation Records.
• Participate in the technical transfer of buffers and media and their associated documents.
• Develop solution raw material estimates and order materials internally or from vendors

The Ideal Candidate will Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in a Science Related Field with 1 year of experience in a similar role 
• Prior experience with laboratory practices such as the use of analytical scales, pH meters, and pipettors.
• Proven experience with aseptic technique involving the use of a biosafety cabinet.
• Sound algebra skills for volume and weight conversions.
• Prior experience with data analysis and reporting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to interface with automated systems
• Dedication to maintaining and operating in a safe work environment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member in a matrix environment.
• Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
• Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Minimum Qualificaitons: 

• Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline
• 1+ years of experience in a similar role with Biopharma.
• Experience working in a regulated lab environment such as Good Laboratory Practices.

Physical Requirements Include:

• Standing for extended periods.
• Climbing stairs, kneel, or crouch to retrieve items.
• Liftting Up to 44lb(20L) and push and pull carts with contents weighing up to 440lb(200L).
• Perform detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks, with frequent interruptions and under time constraints.

• 45-60 Site Visit 

Additional Details: 

The position is full-time, on-site Mon-Fri 6:30 am-2:30 pm. Overtime will be required on a rotational basis to cover weekend Bioreactor sampling and occasional off-shift operations. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Andover, MA, and the surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.
