Hello Neighbor is seeking an Employment Coordinator who will support the efforts of the Employment Team as they welcome Pittsburgh’s newest neighbors.
Working from our Pittsburgh, PA office, the Employment Coordinator provides and/or coordinates the required services and assists newly arrived refugees, SIVs and Afghan parolees to achieve early self-sufficiency through employment within the 240 Day period. This includes providing required case management services to all household members, supporting job seekers in all aspects of their job search, and liaising with employers to build partnerships and match clients with appropriate employment opportunities.
Founded in 2017, Hello Neighbor works to improve the lives of recently resettled refugee families by matching them with dedicated neighbors to guide and support them in their new home. We’ve expanded from our mentorship program to now include refugee resettlement services, family service programs, a national program supporting other refugee and immigrant nonprofits around the country.
This is an in-house position at our Pittsburgh, PA office in Larimer. We are currently on a hybrid return-to-work and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We require COVID-19 vaccination for full-time employees.
Reports To: Employment Supervisor
Key Responsibilities- Directly provide required services, including Case Management, Employment Services, Core Maintenance Assistance Services, and Administration.
- Directly provide or refer clients for additional required services, including English Language Training, Health and Medical Services, Employment Training or Recertification, Social Adjustment Services, and Support Services.
- Secure appropriate interpretation/translation services for meetings and communication with clients, including for job interviews.
- Complete all required documentation, assessments, and administrative paperwork within required time frames, including creating and maintaining Case Files and Case Notes documenting all employment and case management services occurring during the 240 day Matching Grant period.
- Communicate directly with employers in a professional manner to identify employment opportunities, place clients, work through barriers, and build partnerships.
- Provide or coordinate transportation to all initial employment interviews and bus orientation for permanent placements.
- Provide all post 90 day case management services to all members of the Matching Grant case. This includes any support and referral services that arise during the Matching Grant period.
- Coordinate and present pre and post employment training for all job seeking Hello Neighbor clients.
- Help clients meet their self-sufficiency goals and requirements by the end of the Matching Grant period.
- All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree
- Requires 4+ years of related and/or applicable work experience and a demonstrated ability to effectively work with refugee and immigrant communities
- Willingness to work in a fast paced, multicultural environment
- Reliable access to a car, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
- Alignment with and support of Hello Neighbor’s core values
- Flexibility and ability to work nights and weekends as needed

Additional Details- $21.63-23.07/hour, 40 hours weekly
- This is an in-house, regular, full-time, non-exempt position.
- Clearances required: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal History Clearance (PA Act 23 & Act 24); Mandatory Reporter and/or PSEA training may also be required depending on job requirements
