ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa - we are a global BPO company, partnering with a USA-based client servicing the Healthcare Sector.
We are seeking a highly organized Virtual Assistant to serve as a Nursing Practitioners right hand. The ideal candidate must have good knowledge and experience within the Healthcare Sector (nursing or clinical background for understanding medical terminologies).
This role involves handling a variety of administrative and back-office tasks, making calls to patients, and scheduling appointments for services such as bloodwork etc and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanour.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Working Hours: This role requires you to work USA hours Mon - Fri from 9am to 6pm EST (16h00pm to 01h00am South African time. These working hours are subject to change depending on daylight savings)
- Work Environment: This is a remote role for South African Citizens only.
- Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
- Power Backup: A reliable power backup solution is required to manage load shedding and power outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary administrative support to the Nursing Practitioner.
- Communicate with patients via phone or WhatsApp to provide updates (e.g., notifying them that the Nursing Practitioner is on her way etc.).
- Schedule patient appointments, including additional services such as bloodwork.
- Manage and organize administrative tasks assigned by the Nursing Practitioner via task tagging, phone, or WhatsApp.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure clear communication with patients.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to patient interactions and scheduling.
- Assist with other general administrative duties as needed.
- Prior experience in a medical or clinical setting is preferred
- A nursing or clinical background is beneficial for understanding medical terminologies.
- Strong customer service experience, especially in a patient-facing role.
- Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Patient, friendly, and professional demeanour.
- Strong multitasking abilities and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Sharp, bright, and capable of thinking outside the box to problem-solve effectively.
- Good computer skills and comfortable navigating digital communication platforms.
