The Marketing Operations Specialist supports the Marketing Operations team with the planning, execution, optimization, and maintenance of marketing platforms and programs. This role focuses on marketing automation and technology integrations, including administration, operational email execution, lead management processes, and data quality. The specialist will work closely with the Marketing Solutions Manager to ensure smooth marketing workflows, data integrity, and campaign execution.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Marketing Technology & System Support

  • Assist in the day-to-day management and maintenance of the marketing automation platform (Marketo), including troubleshooting and end user support
  • Participate in the implementation and integration of marketing technologies, ensuring they align with business objectives and enhance marketing operations
  • Act as a liaison between marketing and Technology/Salesforce teams to ensure successful delivery of product features and functionality
  • Monitor email deliverability, sender reputation, and compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CCPA regulations.

Operational Program Processes

  • Manage, build, and optimize operational email programs including transactional emails, alerts, tasks, and system-triggered campaign ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency
  • Define and implement audience segmentation, targeting rules, and automated workflows for operational programs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align operational programs to requirements, best practices, and internal governance policies
  • Assist in maintaining the marketing communications inventory to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with marketing, standardized, and operational initiatives

Campaign Program & Process Optimization

  • Conduct testing and QA for marketing automation programs built by the Marketing Solutions Manager to ensure accuracy and functionality
  • Assist with list imports and data updates for marketing campaigns and standardized programs, ensuring accuracy and proper segmentation
  • Support the execution of trigger-based campaigns to ensure timely, targeted communication that enhances audience engagement and campaign effectiveness

Lead & Data Management

  • Support lead management processes including lead capture, routing, and task creation ensure accurate and timely handoff to sales
  • Maintain seamless data flow and integrations between Marketo, Salesforce CRM, and other marketing platforms
  • Implement and maintain data hygiene processes, including deduplication and data standardization, to prevent Marketo-Salesforce sync errors and ensure accurate, reliable data

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (English, Communications, Marketing or Business preferred) 
  • 3+ years experience in digital marketing and/or email marketing
  • 2 years experience with Marketo (or Marketo certification) and/or Salesforce CRM strongly preferred
  • Takes initiative to support new projects/tasks and learn new skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively across departments and teams
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google for Work (Slides, Sheets, Docs, Drive)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
  • Keen attention to project deadlines and deliverables
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and apply business requirements
  • Keen interest in digital marketing and customer experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of marketing and email automation tools (e.g. Marketo) preferred
  • Basic HTML knowledge preferred
  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) preferred
  • Creativity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for emerging technologies in marketing operations
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Amplitude, and Qualtrics

Salary Range: $65,000- $75,000

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to concentrate and multi-task for long periods of time in a noisy/busy environment.  Must be able to travel and work more than 40 hours per week as needed. 

This position is open to a hybrid schedule out of our Austin, TX; Boston, Massachusetts; Hamilton, NJ; or New York City, NY offices. This position is also eligible for remote employment, excluding the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming.
