Reunion Ambassador (Summer 2025 900734)

For one weekend every year, alumni are invited to reunite with their classmates to remember and celebrate their four years at Middlebury as they explore and reconnect with the College campus. A Reunion Ambassador works Reunion Weekend (June 5-8) to create a welcoming atmosphere for alumni to fully enjoy and participate in their Reunion activities and events. This position presents a unique opportunity to engage with alumni from all different walks of life while simultaneously providing them with the resources and information they need to enjoy their Reunion. 

Reunion Ambassadors will be expected to arrive back on campus early for training, and support the Alumni and Parent Programs team in staffing various events and providing excellent customer service to alumni throughout the Weekend. Ambassadors will work approximately 40 hours during Reunion, and are expected to be on campus June 3 and June 4 for training in advance of the alumni arriving for Reunion June 5-8.  

Responsibilities: 

1. Be social with alumni! Talk to them about your experiences at Midd. Be friendly, professional, and accessible.  

1. Be informative: always carry extra programs and a map/shuttle schedule with you, be prepared to answer questions, give directions, or put alumni in touch with someone else who can better help them. 

1. Be there: Never leave your headquarters or event unattended. Your presence is a gift! 

1. Be on time and prepared for all events on your schedule. Make sure you understand your responsibilities! 

1. Organize and maintain a presentable, informative, and personalized Class Headquarters or other event space.  

1. Be supportive and collaborative: assist the Alumni and Parent Programs (APP) staff, including the Reunion Ambassador Coordinator (RAC) and Deputies, with ensuring that Reunion goes smoothly. 

1. Communicate effectively and promptly with the RAC and/or other appropriate APP staff to troubleshoot any complications that arise. 

1. Be proactive and look for things to help with or work on if you have down time during a shift. Is there trash that needs to be picked up? Does an alum look like they need assistance? 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:

• Is a reliable, outgoing, personable, and hardworking student who is able to work as a team player
• Has a broad general knowledge of the College and its many departments and buildings
• Can communicate efficiently and effectively with other Student Ambassadors and staff members
• Can create an inviting space for alumni to reconnect with the Middlebury campus and community
• Is ready to jump in and assist alumni or staff at any time during the weekend
• Represents the current Middlebury student body both humbly and confidently
