Glad you ask. In a nutshell, we’re all about making the world of wine a better place. We fund and source directly from independent winemakers to bring customers better quality wine for a better price. No thirsty middlemen as far as the eye can see.

It’s a different way of doing things, sure. But it works. We’re currently the largest online direct-to-consumer winery in the USA, shipping over 1 million(!) packs a year to curious wine lovers. And with an ambitious road ahead, we’ve got no plans on plugging the cork on growth.

Your purpose:

As Head of Wine Planning, you’ll be the driving force behind ensuring our planned wines are seamlessly contracted and effectively communicated to the Wine team. You'll play a pivotal role in keeping our wine pipeline flowing smoothly—bridging the gap between suppliers and our business, ensuring every bottle meets our standards. Leading the Wine Planning team, you’ll champion process excellence, uphold key business protocols for wine purchases, and foster strong, strategic relationships with external suppliers. To nail your job you will:

• Be responsible for upholding company mission, vision, and values
• Coordinate with winemakers and suppliers to ensure all planned wine details are carried out from grape to production successfully and troubleshooting any issues as they arise
• Create and execute all bulk wine, grape, and finished wine agreements, upholding the terms and conditions of our standard agreements
• Create business plans for each winemaker with all program details and update plans when addendums are needed
• Communicate any changes or shifts to the team and winemakers as a result of wine planning decisions, including additional volume added, new wines, and shifts in demand
• Work collaboratively with the buying, strategy, and production teams to meet changing portfolio needs throughout the year
• Oversee the bulk wine sales process, providing guidance to the Planning Administrator and Stock Controller to execute bulk sales
• Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts across the team to drive efficiencies and optimize processes
• Support the VP of Wine and Director of Winemaking with custom crush agreements and planning needs, as required
• Participate in weekly planning and bottling meetings
• Manage the Planning Administrator, Wine Label Project Coordinator, Production Manager and Procurement Manager
• Assist with other tasks, duties or special projects as assigned
  
  Supervisory Responsibilities:
  
• Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department
• Oversee the daily workflow of the department
• Conduct weekly/monthly 1:1’s with your team members
• Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations
• Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
• At least 5 years of wine or other manufacturing industry required
• Planning experience required
• Experience working with external suppliers and upholding business relationships required
• Wine contract experience preferred
• Strong computer, technical and analytical skills required
• An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and Google Office tools
• Skilled with MS office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT) and/or Google Sheets
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Compensation: $90,000-$105,000 Annually DOE
• Annual Bonus
• Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance – 90% employee coverage, 60% dependent coverage. Eligible from day 1.
• Holiday allowance – 34 days of paid time off, including 20 days of accrued paid time off (PTO) and 12 paid company holidays. Paid time off also includes your Birthday, plus one additional day for volunteer efforts.
• Retirement plan – 4% employer match. Eligible from day 1.
• Wine allowance – $50 a month towards your Nakedwines.com account
• Gym contribution – Up to $25 a month towards a gym membership
• Personal Pathways – Naked will pay up to $500 annually towards training on any topic you may be interested in pursuing (doesn't have to be work-related)
