Job Title: Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Intern

Location: Toronto, ON  

Term: 4 months (May to August 2025)

This role will give the individual the opportunity to dive into all aspects of Food Safety and Quality data analysis and reporting to drive continuous improvement across multiple programs. The opportunity will allow for an in-depth understanding of Open Farm products and traceability of all of our ingredients and have an impact at driving commitment to being transparent to all our customers. This position is for an individual who is very detail oriented and who loves data analysis and report creation!

• Ensure finished product traceability documentation is updated and maintained for all ingredients. 
• Leading the review and updates to finished product results and traceability on the website. 
• Support the maintenance of documentation related to protein shipments throughout our network. 
• Assist with submissions to laboratories for product analysis and food safety testing, including reporting and tracking. 
• Support the tracking and trending analysis for all food safety and quality metrics. 
• Support the development and maintenance of ingredients and finished product specifications. 
• Supporting with data analysis on nutrient profiles and other laboratory results. 
• All other duties, as assigned 

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Sciences, Data Analytics or Business and graduating in spring of 2025 
• Absolutely must be detail-oriented, very strong communicator & organized! 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel & Outlook. 
• A passion for pets, animal welfare and sustainability.

Hybrid Work 

At Open Farm, we believe in the power of collaboration, meaningful connections, and enjoying our work together—fury friends included! That’s why we’ve adopted a structured hybrid approach that allows you the benefit of a reduced commute while still building strong workplace relationships. Currently, all employees are expected to be in the office two days per week at minimum, with Tuesday and Thursday as our anchor days. In addition to this, each month our Leadership team dedicates three consecutive days onsite to continue to foster alignment and connection across the team. During this time we expect everyone to join us in person to do the same. Please note: our hybrid approach may evolve over time as we adapt to the needs of our team and business.
