The Senior Accountant position is a core technical role supporting the Accounting Manager in all accounting related matters. The individual is responsible for accounting and analysis, including general ledger entries and maintenance, month-end, quarterly and monthly closing workpapers and financial reporting, budget to actual analysis and identification of potential financial risks.

- Account Review and Reconciliation (40%)
- Responsible for preparation and/or review of all assigned account analysis, including maintaining appropriate workpapers supporting account balances, including bank reconciliation.
- Prepare journal entries, review of general ledger detail and record adjustments, as required.
- This includes identification of any last-minute top side adjustments and ensuring that these are entered into the GL in the following month
- KPI and Financial Analysis (30%)
- Perform analysis of accounts assigned, including budget to actual analysis, year over year analysis, and preparation and analysis of key performance indicators.
- Budget Preparation (20%)
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
- Provide support in the annual budgeting process for the agency
- Reporting (10%)
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports as required by external sources
- Responsible for assisting in the preparation of external reports as required by funding sources or other outside agencies
- Auditing (5%)
- Provide support in the annual audit process
- Process Improvement (10%) • Responsible for documenting key processes and identifying process improvements and automation opportunities for assigned areas Special Projects (_ %)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum education o bachelor's degree in accounting and/or 5+ years of accounting related positions preferred
• Minimum work experience o Previous accounting and general ledger experience o Previous experience utilizing accounting and purchasing software
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires prolonged sitting and repetitive tasks including use of a computer. Periodic standing, walking, bending. Requires lifting or moving of up to 15 pounds. Visual acuity is sufficient to perform frequent work on a computer screen and review printed reports and other materials. Requires the ability to hear and to communicate orally with others. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, and will require reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: This job operates in a professional office environment. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions in a health center environment. Requires flexible schedule and during peak activity periods work in excess of 7.5 hours per day and/or 37.5 hours per week.
