• Establish project specifications, technical direction, and best practices to ensure long-term platform scalability and maintainability.
• Design and implement robust software architecture and system modifications that align with business goals.
• Lead by example—write high-quality, maintainable code in React, TypeScript, AWS, and at least one backend language (e.g., Go, PHP, Python, Java, etc.).
• Oversee software quality, technical debt management, and system performance optimizations.
• Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations to improve engineering efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

• Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous growth.
• Provide technical leadership to unblock engineers, close knowledge gaps, and enhance team efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with leadership, design, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Champion knowledge-sharing, best practices, and innovation within the engineering team.

• Define and maintain project roadmaps, ensuring on-time delivery of high-impact features.
• Identify risks and redundancies in existing operations and develop contingency plans.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve complex system and production issues.
• Enforce technical standards, security best practices, and compliance guidelines.

• You are located in New York City.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong background in React, TypeScript, AWS, and at least one backend language (Go, PHP, Python, Java, etc.).
• 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, leading development teams and driving architectural decisions.
• Proven track record of delivering digital products from concept to market, ensuring successful launches and post-launch optimizations.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and cloud computing (AWS preferred).
• Experience with agile development methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Hands-on experience integrating SEO best practices into engineering workflows.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• A passion for mentorship, collaboration, and team growth.

• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes) or serverless architectures.
• Strong understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) and search experiences.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, including cluster management, query optimization, and data indexing strategies.
• Experience working with content and media platforms, marketplace platforms, or digital advertising/revenue platforms.
