SoundCloud is looking for a Tax Manager where you will be a key strategic partner, playing a crucial role in the evolution and success of our global tax function. In this position, you’ll contribute to the company’s global tax strategy, ensuring compliance with international tax laws and regulations with a focus on the Americas and optimizing our tax position, working closely with the Director of Tax and other senior stakeholders. You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing tax processes and solutions that meet regulatory and governance standards.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive impactful tax-related initiatives, shape our tax processes, and lead complex projects across multiple jurisdictions that align with SoundCloud’s dynamic growth and global presence. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage all tax filings, including GST, WHT, and other relevant tax obligations, with a focus on the USA, Canada and Latin America and prepare tax reports to senior management highlighting key risks, opportunities and compliance status
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns, payments, and reports to relevant authorities
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations across the region and ensure compliance
  • Develop and implement new processes and workflows to streamline tax operations and ensure deadlines are met
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in tax reporting and compliance
  • Manage tax-related projects, including system implementations, process redesigns, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Finance, Legal, Engineering, Operations) to ensure alignment on tax-related matters
  • Take ownership of all tax-related responsibilities for the Americas region, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with external advisors and tax authorities to ensure tax compliance
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential tax issues or risks

Experience and Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in tax management, with a focus on Canada, the USA, and/or Latin America
  • Strong knowledge of GST, WHT, and other tax regulations in the Americas region
  • Proven experience in project management and process improvement
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) is preferred
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $96,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, and location. We also offer a generous total rewards program - read more about additional benefits and perks below!
