💡 About this Role & Why We're Hiring

It’s an exciting time to be joining the team at Stotles. We have recently gone through a period of high growth allowing us to tackle bigger and more complex challenges. Never as an organisation have we been so clear what our objectives are and now we need to execute! As our 3rd product designer you will be the driving force behind our UX and UI. We will expect you to work closely with our Product Manager, Head of Design and engineers to ship impactful work.

The immediate future will have a strong focus on Growth design, how can we better onboard, activate and convert users. To give you some idea of the type of work, here are some projects we have recently been involved in:

  • New onboarding flow with AI generate recommendations

  • Brand new app landing page to encourage activation

  • Discovery research around barriers to activation

💷 Comp Range: £40,000 - £50,000 base salary (dependent on experience) with an additional options equity grant

🔨 What You'll Do

You will own the end-to-end design process for your projects from effective problem definition, through ideation and prototyping, ending with user-validated high-fidelity designs.

As you progress you will begin to own more of the vision for an area of the product and learn how to bring identified user needs and business goals to drive impactful design work.

  • Work with a small cross-functional team made up of a designer, product manager and engineers to define, craft and ship products that solves meaningful problems for our users.

  • Interact with our customers to understand their problems deeply and test solutions using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Work closely with engineers and other partners to ensure a high-quality implementation.

  • Collaborate with customer success, growth and sales to analyse and understand target users; their context, and the competitive landscape.

  • Measure the success of your decisions with the team and iterate when needed.

  • Come up with features and improvements that ship quickly and with high quality.

  • Help to grow our design team, improve processes, and participate in broader product topics and activities.

  • Contribute to our evolving design system - still early doors and lots to get involved with!

⌨️ Who We're Looking For

Requirements

  • 2+ years of product design experience in an individual contributor role.

  • A portfolio of well-crafted, impactful work that solves real problems for real users.

  • Experience conducting user research to understand user needs and validate proposed ideas.

  • Ability to communicate ideas through prototypes (we use Figma but this isn’t a requirement).

  • Experience working on desktop first B2B SaaS is a bonus.

  • Experience with an established design system is a bonus - we are currently working on our own.

  1. Portfolio Submission

    Submit your portfolio via the application form for our recruiting team to review

  2. Intro call | 15 - 20 minutes This is an informal chat so you can learn more about the company and the role and you can tell us more about yourself - your experience and what you want to achieve in the next role.

  3. Portfolio Review | 30 - 45 minutes

    This will be an interview with our Lead Designer and CPO to walk through your portfolio, past experience and design process. Please be prepared with a relevant project our two to talk to. This does not need to be a polished portfolio, current live projects are welcome!

  4. Virtual Whiteboard Session | 1.5hrs With our Lead Product Designer and CPO we will go through an app critique process as well as a brainstorming session. This is a collaborative session so we can all get a feel for how we would work together day to day.

  5. Culture and Fit Interviews | 1 hour

    This will be where candidates have an opportunity to talk about their motivations within Stotles. It’s an opportunity to meet with our leaders and learn more about our culture.
