Our story:

Every year millions of people are either filing their taxes in fear or giving up on their tax refund altogether. We're working on fixing that. Our intuitive app enables anyone, regardless of education or background, to file their taxes with newfound confidence.

Spread across Berlin and Madrid, Team Taxfix is a compassionate group of solution-finders. We speak our minds openly, and with 500+ professionals from 45+ different nationalities, we're rich in ideas and voices. In four years, we've raised over 300 million euros in funding and helped people reclaim more than one billion euros.

Your challenge:

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Taxfix, your mission is to lead the design and development of robust, scalable data models that power our analytical applications. You will transform raw data into actionable insights, empowering our teams to make informed decisions. While you will own the data models within your domain, you will also help shape the broader evolution of Analytics Engineering at Taxfix.

Your specific challenge is to build and enhance our Marketing Measurement capabilities around TaxScouts in both the UK and Spanish markets. You will collaborate closely with MarTech and Marketing teams to unify these capabilities and integrate them with our central solutions. Your work will directly influence marketing strategy and budget allocation, enabling Taxfix to acquire new customers efficiently and scale in competitive markets like the UK and Spain

Your team:

Our Data Analytics teams at Taxfix are domain-focused. You will join our Marketing Analytics team, working closely with Marketing across multiple brands. Our Analytics Engineers operate in a decentralized way within their teams but come together through the Analytics Engineering Guild, where we share best practices and solve problems collaboratively.

Our tech stack includes Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Looker, Segment.io, Singular, Airbyte, Airflow, and other tools. We are looking for a pragmatic problem-solver who thrives on getting things done while maintaining a keen eye for detail. You approach challenges with precision and care, ensuring that your solutions are not only effective but also robust and scalable. You should be comfortable advocating for data modeling best practices and helping us continuously improve our data ecosystem.

Your responsibilities and decisions:

  •  Design and maintain complex, high-quality dimensional data models that stand the test of time.

  • Develop and optimize data pipelines using dbt, with thorough documentation.

  • Implement robust data quality checks and strategies that keep our data accurate and trustworthy.

  • Maintain and optimize existing data analytics solutions, addressing and resolving issues promptly to ensure seamless performance.

  • Build or expand Looker Explores and Dashboards to deliver actionable insights.

  • Become an expert in marketing-relevant tracking, data sources, privacy considerations and attribution.

  • Own projects end to end, from idea generation and requirements gathering to successful implementation.

  • Set standards and regularly exchange knowledge with fellow Analytics Engineers to continuously improve our craft.

Your profile:

  •  4+ years of experience building data warehouse products, creating code-based ETL processes, and delivering BI solutions with strong dimensional modeling skills.

  • Proficiency in SQL and a passion for writing efficient, optimized queries.

  • Advanced experience with dbt (cloud or core) for data modeling.

  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery) and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, Mixpanel).

  • Expertise in data quality, including designing robust monitoring frameworks.

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to convey complex ideas clearly and simply.

  • Strong business acumen and a strategic approach to stakeholder management.

  • Marketing domain knowledge in a B2C environment is a plus, particularly across both Web and App channels as well as attribution.

  • You are a diversity champion
