Medicaid Sr. Billing Specialist (Tennessee)

We are seeking a committed, mission-aligned senior billing specialist to ensure schools receive the financial reimbursements they deserve in order to continue serving their students. The billing specialist will be a key member of our operations team, locking arms with our administration and providers to support our partners.

This is a 32-hour/week remote, contract position. The compensation range is $18 - $22/hr, commensurate with experience.

• Manage collection and entry of data into EMR system via HIPPA and FERPA compliant systems 
• Daily electronic claims entry, submission and follow-up
• Denial management
• Audit EMR system for accuracy of data entry 
• Swift interpretation and application of changes in regulatory expectations as outlined by government and payers
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, ensuring top customer satisfaction

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 3-5 years of experience with medical billing and claims management required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Independent, self-starter committed to providing best-in-class customer service
• Proven expertise processing Medicaid claims in Tennessee 
• Fluency with the CMS 1500 form and related billing regulations. 
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.
• Familiarity with: TennCare Select; BCBS; Wellpoint; UHC
• Proficiency with EMR systems 
• HIPPA expertise and compliance
• Fluency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products (Google Sheets, GMail, Google Docs, etc)

• Experience with medicaid billing in schools
• Multilingualism
