Accounts Receivable Specialist

UES has an opening in the West Region for a Accounts Receivable Specialist in the Phoenix, AZ branch. UES is a nationwide leader in Engineering and Earth Sciences and Sustainability, including testing and inspection, Building Code Compliance, Geospatial Technology and Environmental Solutions.


Pay Range: $25/hr - $29/hr



Job Responsibilities
  • Consistently work to track and obtain outstanding company revenues.
  • Follow-up on invoices submitted to ensure prompt and timely payment and escalates issues, as necessary.
  • Make calls to troubleshoot payment discrepancies and establish resolution.
  • Document in detail phone calls, phone numbers, person spoken to, and call information on a consistent basis.
  • Identify overpayments and/or duplicate payments; and investigate/resolve accordingly.
  • Research missing invoices/payments.
  • Send past due or breach of contract notices for ensuring payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Improve process and procedures currently utilized to improve DSOs.
  • Professionally interface with clients’ A/P and project management staff as necessary to rectify invoice issues and facilitate prompt client payments
  • Accurately enter company billing data into clients’ automated vendor bill payment systems
  • Maritain user-friendly electronic files of all client invoices and supporting documentation
  • Contact clients to identify billing-related problems that are causing non-payment of invoices


Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience – preferred not required
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of customer service support
  • 5 years recent experience (F/T equivalent) performing primarily professional services client billing in a team-oriented, cross-trained environment – preferred not required
  • Ability and desire to work cooperatively and professionally with other administrative and professional services team members
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PDF editing software
  • Strong written grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills, and application of this proficiency in daily email communications
  • Ability to effectively self-organize and execute workflow of assigned responsibilities such that all monthly and weekly work products are reliably timely and reliably accurate
  • Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in stressful situations
  • FDCPA law knowledge
  • Initiative and interpersonal tact to address and help resolve workflow and/or quality control problems or issues
  • Experience using a multi-line phone system
